PRESS NOTE
WEBUILD: FROM TODAY, SELECTIONS BEGIN FOR HIRING APPLICATIONS TO BUILD NEW STRAIT OF MESSINA BRIDGE THOUSANDS OF JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN CALABRIA AND SICILYRome, October 24, 2025 - Italy's most wished-for construction site starts selections to hire thousands of men and women to build the Strait of Messina Bridge. All applications for Eurolink hirings must be sent through: https://www.webuildgroup.com/ponte-sullo-stretto/posizioni-aperte-eurolink
As we wait for the final decision of the Corte dei Conti, on the human resources side, things are now moving faster, with training and hirings to build a team of professionals and young talents ready to contribute to a work that will change the South of Italy and Italy as a whole.
The Bridge is a strategic project for Italy's economic growth, logistics, tourism and mobility. It will improve connections between the two sides of the Strait, connecting the high-speed and high-capacity railway line, which is finally being constructed in Sicily, with the continent's. It will also strengthen the competitiveness of the South, driving a widespread and sustainable industrial chain.
To support the creation of this project, Webuild uses its system of "Cantiere Lavoro Italia" schools, which involves workers and employees in work integration, specialization and skill development paths. A tangible investment in training, work and the development of communities.
Launched in 2003, the "Cantiere Lavoro Italia" programme, which has since then trained approximately 1,700 people (among workers and employees), aims at enhancing the human capital and at creating qualified employment on the territory. It is aimed both at inexperienced young people and resources to requalify, offering concrete training paths and opportunities to work in the construction sites.
Webuild, in the South of Italy - collaborating with Building Schools (Scuole Edili) has in fact built a solid and capillary network of training centres to prepare new generations for complex large infrastructural challenges: going from the construction site schools in Calabria that offer specialized training of both workers and staff, to the active centre in Campania, reaching the training lab in Bovino (Foggia), in Puglia, all of which are a reference point for developing the territory's technical skills.
In Sicily, the Advanced Training Centre in Belpasso (Catania), inaugurated in November 2023, in collaboration with the Region of Sicily, is currently the main hub for TBM excavation. Equipped with TBM simulators and cutting-edge machinery, the training centre offers a complete training experience, thanks to its inside experts and external professionals.
Webuild, in line, with the protocol signed by the Region of Sicily, the Region of Calabria and the Region of Campania, has also promoted numerous initiatives to attract new candidates: collaborations with schools and universities, recruiting days and orientation activities on the territory. We concretely invest in people to build with them Italy's future infrastructure.
