Shares of energy companies rose alongside oil futures after Iran abruptly requested planned talks with the U.S. be moved from Turkey to Iran.

Oil futures rose 3% to $65.14 a barrel. Analysts said Tehran's request to move the talks was likely a tactical effort to wrongfoot U.S. negotiators.
