FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - The Iran war, widely thought to be off the table, flared up again on financial markets on Wednesday. In turn, the Dax's record run came to an abrupt halt. After Monday's peak at 25,900 points, the 25,000-point level now has to prove itself again as support. It is currently looking very shaky: the Dax was last at 24,958 points, about 2% below its previous close.

US President Trump declared the ceasefire with Iran officially over. Earlier, there had already been mutual attacks, including the downing of Iranian missiles over Bahrain. Oil prices jumped sharply, reviving worries about inflation, weaker growth, and interest-rate responses by central banks./ag/mis
