The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Wednesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped. 

The loonie was trading 0.3% higher at C$1.384 to the greenback, or 72.25 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3825 to 1.3898.

Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 7.9 basis points to 3.408%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 4.2458%.

U.S. May crude futures fell $20.36 to $92.59 a barrel on Wednesday.
